Merik stood on the bridge of his ship, his arms folded across his chest as he looked towards his CO’s office. He couldn’t say he agreed with the peaceful meeting his commanding officer had arranged with the Federation, although they did have two Romulan citizens aboard. The fact that one of them was an Officer in the chain of command aboard the Federation ship had its plus points though.

Merik had already managed to convince Vrih to invite his daughter and granddaughter onboard the ship, although he had his doubts that the child would be allowed anywhere near the ship so he would have to be creative how he got his hands on her. As for Ellie Kees, he had plans for her. First of all, he needed to convince Vrih that his daughter deserved to have her Romulan heritage reinstated, a trip to their doctor would soon sort that. Plus some mind re-training whilst she was there wouldn’t go amiss, although further treatments would be required to might re-training permanent.

His attention turned to the office as the doors opened and Vrih walked onto the bridge.

“Status on our arrival at the rendezvous with the Federation ship?” Vrih looked at Merik.

Merik looked back at the voice "we are an hour from their location Commander" Centurion Khellian responded

“In that case, I want to talk with you in my office.” Vrih motioned for Merik to join him.

*snaps heels together and gives a shallow bow* "yes Commander" Merik responded and followed his Commander into his Office and waited till the doors closed and for the commander to speak.

Vrih turned to look at Merik. "I am...concerned with your plan to have my daughter's looks re-instated." He paused. "She will have grown accustomed to not looking like a Romulan."

Thinking carefully before answering "Commander, she has been among Starfleet too long, a loyal daughter of Romulus should show support for her father, by her not showing her heritage she dishonours you" Merik said.

“I am trying to get my daughter and granddaughter to accept me Merik! How am I supposed to do that if I allow Ellie to have her looks changed?” He paced backwards and forwards.

Again seeing the Commanders conundrum he acquiesced... A little "well open up a dialogue with the Starfleet vessel, make nice and perhaps the ships Captain will agree to meet with you in person and then we can assess on how far Starfleet has come since the Dominion War" Merik said trying to ease his Commanders nerves, it was a foreign feeling to do this, he used to be Naval Intelligence until a Tal'Shiar lie campaign forced him out of Imperial Naval Intelligence.

Vrih sighed. "I've allowed myself to become too influenced by this." He straightened up his arms folded across his chest. "Bring my daughter here, right away!"

"So it will be done" Merik said then gave a shallow bow as he clicked his heels together and he left the bridge and headed back down to medical.
