Mission: Churchill's First adventure
Location: Crew Lounge
Timeline: Day 2

After getting a good night's rest Ellie had dropped Fae at the school to start her morning before making her way to the crew lounge to grab herself some breakfast. She'd managed to do Fae hers but she wasn't hungry enough for her own until now so she decided to eat where she could observe the crew in a social setting.

Andi was dressed in retro civilian clothes, which consisted of trainers, denim jeans and a T-shirt that showed her toned arms, the clothes were quite tight, Andi had not had time to replicate larger clothes to account for her toned body and her bobbed hair was neat and couffered and looking impeccable was drinking some kind of synthale when she looked over and saw a young Lieutenant and decided to make friends.

Andi walked over to her "hi, my name is Andi, who are you?" Lightfeather asked.

"I'm Ellie, Ellie Kees, the new Chief Counsellor " She motioned for Andi to take a seat. "Please feel free to sit down."

Nodding with a smile Andi took a seat, then realised something "where are my manners normally known as, Lieutenant Commander Andromeda Lightfeather, ships First Officer, I am new here" Andi finished ordering another Synthale.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Commander." Ellie smiled warmly. "Do you have the family onboard ship?"

*shaking her head* "No, not right now, only child estranged from my father, you?" Lightfeather asked.

"I have my five-year-old daughter Fae with me. As ships XO it's best that I will be open and honest, Fae is Commander Stewart's daughter."

Andi hid her surprise and controlled her emotions "thank you for telling me, but there was no real need for that, but as you mentioned it, when did you two meet and were you married?" Lightfeather asked.

"We first met at the Academy" Ellie smiled. "We were good friends there but it wasn't until a few years ago that we finally got romantically involved. I tried to contact James about Fae but I couldn't reach him, he's only just learned of her existence. Hence the reason why I'm being honest with you about Fae."

She thinks over what she had just been told before she responded "how old is your daughter Fae? And is she old enough to understand that there will be areas that she cannot go?" Lightfeather asked taking a sip of her drink.

Fae is only five but she grew up on a starship, I was out on the rim when she was born and we only recently returned. Like all five-year-olds she's curious but she knows that there are places she isn't allowed without me or another adult." She offered a smile. "She's currently more excited that she has her father with her now."

"A five-year-old that knows where they can go, that is a refreshing change, have you managed to find quarters for you and your daughter okay? I know an Intrepid Class ship is not built for families" Lightfeather asked.

"We've managed so far. Fortunately, the senior staff quarters are bigger than most quarters onboard it's more than big enough for Fae and I." Ellie smiled warmly. "I'll make sure I go over the rules with Fae just to make sure she's clear on where is off limits."

"It would be appreciated, she will need to be escorted around the ship, I understand that there is a school program available on the holodeck, and a playground one, you could use that for your daughter as a five-year-old will get bored quickly I would imagine?" Lightfeather said.

"Quite correct" Ellie smiled and nodded. "She takes part in a school program normally from the holodeck or our quarters. I also have childcare arranged for her, I know it's not going to be easy but we've managed before."

"At least you have that experience, I am not yet a parent in any way, so where children are concerned, I have no idea, being a Chieftain's daughter did not allow for interaction with the children on the reservation, I suppose you could say that when I joined Starfleet, My father went off the Reservation" Lightfeather responded laughing at her joke.

"It's not so hard" Ellie grinned. "It was easier for me, I always wanted children and it made me a natural I guess. Fae could always use new friends so maybe you'd like to meet her sometime and you can see how it goes from there?"

Lightfeather smiled "yes, that would be nice, but a five-year-old is totally different to a newborn, but for me, it is new territory either way, so what was your previous duty?" Lightfeather asked.

"I actually took a year off prior to this assignment" Ellie smiled. "I needed to fully recuperate from Fae's birth and gave some proper family time with her. Prior to that, we were out on the rim for a few years aboard the USS Franklin."

she collated her thoughts "on Stardate 237501.01 I was on Deep Space six as a Security officer and aided in defending it against some attacking Jem'Hadar during the Dominion War, they were tough cookies, I have even done a stint as a helm officer, but never First Officer" Andi said.

"So this is your first assignment as First Officer?" Ellie looked at Andi offering a smile. "I'm sure you'll do just fine. Starfleet wouldn't have put you here if they didn't believe you'd have the ability to do the job.

"Well that is what I think, but at the end of the day experience counts, but I know I can do the job, but knowing and feeling are two different things, don't you agree?" Lightfeather asked.

"Of course" Ellie nodded. "If you ever need to air any concerns or just talk you know where to find me. After all, that's why I'm here."

*Smiling at her* "Excellent, I will remember that" she looked at the bartender.

"What can I get you, Commander?" he asked.

"a ham and cheese baguette" Lightfeather answered and the bartender nodded and moved to the replicator while Andi returned her attention to Kees.

"I'll leave you to your lunch Commander" Ellie smiled warmly. "If there's anything you need you to know where to find me."

*Nodding* "I will thank you, Counsellor," Andi said and watched Kees leave the room, she returned to her ordered the meal and took a healthy bite of it, for now, she would not think on duty while she ate.
